If you knew who you truly are, you wouldn’t be bothered by these temporary things. If you understood how you’re made and what you’re made of, you wouldn’t be consumed by petty things that simply don’t matter.

The problem here is YOU DON’T KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND HOW YOU WERE MADE.

The truth is, you’re made of star stuff. Yes, for real, the stuff of the stars in this vast universe is the stuff you’re made of. What God used to make the stars that shine in our night sky, he used to make YOU.

We are made of universal and divine ingredients, yet we’re walking around like we’re nothing special at all. Here we are showing up for another day of life as a very dull version of what we were created to be. But if I can help you understand what you’re made of, maybe it will help you understand your greater purpose here.

Our bodies contain 3 grams of iron, 3 grams of silver-white magnesium, and smaller amounts of copper. Proportionate to size, they are among the weightiest atoms in our bodies, and they all come from the same source, a star. Yes, a star, that’s what is inside of you.

The iron in your blood, the calcium in your teeth, the carbon in your genes were produced billions of years ago in the interior of a red giant star. The same God who made that star decided to make YOU, and he decided to use star stuff to make you.

Don’t you think that means you’re meant to shine? Don’t you think that means you’re made for these dark times? Don’t you think that means you’re meant to rise up high above this other stuff? Don’t you think that means you’re something magnificent and magnificent things aren’t weighed down by minute things, minimal things, marginal things, material things.

In Genesis chapter 1 we read the account of God creating all there was, is and ever will be.

1
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2
Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

Then, we read on the 4th day of creation:

16
God made two great lights–the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.
And God saw that it was good.
On the 5th day he filled the seas and the land and the air with animals.

Then on the 6th day, he did something wild.

27
So God created man in his own image … male and female he created them.

31
God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.

Then we read in Genesis 2:7 exactly how God created us. “Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.”

Yes, be humble, you are made out of dust. However be noble, that dust is star stuff.

The same God who made the galaxy decided he needed YOU in the middle of it all, then he took the stuff of the stars and handcrafted you. Timeless things are in you, and an eternity awaits you.

So here’s the gut check, soul searching reminder for you today: WHEN YOU KNOW YOU’RE AN INFINITE, RADIANT, POWERFUL BEING MADE OF LIGHT AND STAR STUFF, THIS PETTY CRAP WON’T BOTHER YOU ANY MORE.

I can’t get down and wallow in pettiness. I can’t be concerned with stuff that won’t even matter 5 years from now. I can’t be overwhelmed by this silliness. Nahhhh, not when I’m made of what I’m made of.

Star stuff. That’s what you’re made of. The stuff that is so bright it can travel through the darkness of space for YEARS for our eyes to see it. The closest star is about 4 light years away from us. Others are up to 640 light years away. And miraculously, even at such a distance that the speed of light takes that long to travel to our eyes, WE SEE IT SHINE. That’s bright!

And that’s what you’re made of.

Sister, are you shining? Are you doing what you were created to do? Are you showing others the magnificence of your creator in your every day life? Even in the darkness … especially in the darkness.

2020 has been a dark year for many. Ahhhhh girl, don’t you know that’s when the stars show up! This is what we were made for! This is our time. Our time to reflect what we’re made of and exactly who made us!

God used the stuff of the stars to make me, now I just can’t be living a dull life. I can’t be burdened by this darkness, I must shine in the middle of it. Because that’s what we were made to do.

You should totally walk around today saying “I’m a super star” … because actually, you are!
