You’re in a battle. A battle for the life you were created for.

There are forces seeking to hold you back in a life less than all that is possible for you. There are voices that tell you you’re not worthy of more, not capable of more, and certainly not created for more, so this is as far as you will go and as much as you will ever do. These voices tell you this is it. You’re tapped out. You’re done. There’s no point in even trying.

These voices are from the pits of hell. KNOW THAT!

This battle is greater than you because your life’s purpose is bigger than you. You’re here as part of the divine plan of eternity, and you settling for anything less creates a void. A void that leaves living on the table and impact unpacked.

Girlfriend, you will never know all you were created for until you decide to not give up in the battle. The battle will continue all the days of your life, it’s not going away. Will you settle, or will you fight for all that has been put within you? You were designed as a warrior, not a weakling, not a puppet, not a defeated soul. The frustration and weariness you feel is a ploy of the enemy to make you quit. Decide now THIS WARRIOR WILL NEVER QUIT AND NEVER BACK DOWN! There’s something worth fighting for here.

We’re often tricked into thinking we’re fighting anything less than evil. Girl, it’s so much bigger than you think. As much as God is working in all the details of your life to bring you into his good plans which he planned for you in advance, the enemy is trying to weasel his way into the details to distract, discourage, and detour you from God’s good plans. Where there is good, there will always be an attack.

Where flowers grow, weeds will threaten to overtake. Weeds are all around you sis, they must be pulled up! The enemy is working in the weeds of your life you’ve grown accustom to. Those distractions, those negative thoughts, those toxic relationships, those little bad habits, those secrets of the past … those are his weeds and they multiply to take over your soil and choke out every good thing you have growing in your life.

This is the battle you’re in. The battle to protect what God has placed within you and the life he created you for, and recognize the true threats growing all around you. These little things seem insignificant right now, but girl they are growing and they’re growing fast. They are a threat to the life you were created for. A threat straight from hell.

Ephesians 6:12 “For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places”

Yes, this is your battle. The attacks come from the unseen. The powers of the dark world have come against you because you carry light within you. The fight is real, and honey if you’re not fighting it, then you’ve unknowingly been sacrificing victories God destined you to walk in.

If you want every victory designed for you, if you want every breakthrough possible, if you want every mountaintop and next level of living, then sis you’re going to have to fight for it. And remember, you’re not fighting anyone else. Trust me, there’s enough victory for all of us in God’s good plan. You’re battling the evil one who fights to keep you from stepping fully into the light and becoming the beacon you were created to be.

So, how do you fight? What is your weapon against this enemy? Well, after we are told of this battle in Ephesians 6, the chapter goes on to tell us about the armor of God. You’re likely familiar with it. The breastplate of righteousness, the helmet of salvation, the belt of truth, the shoes of peace, and the shield of faith. All of these are to protect you from the attacks. But one thing is given to you to fight back. What are you given to fight the enemy who is here to take from you the life you have been given to live?

Ephesians 6:17 “Take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

The word of God is our one weapon to fight back. This is how we not only defend ourselves, but how we go on attack against the one who has been attacking us. We use the word of God.

Girl, have you been showing up to battle without your weapon? Are you coming back from battle day after day feeling beat down because you’ve just been trying to stand there in your armor as you take a beating, never fighting back because you forgot your sword? Ahhhhh sis, it’s time to open up a can of “whoop **butt**” and start fighting back.

God has given you his word to fight against your enemy. It’s time to start using it! You’re not just supposed to withstand all the attacks, you’re supposed to fight back and defeat your attacker. You’ve been given a weapon that will defeat him!

This whole plan of all defense and no offense isn’t a good plan. How will you ever win if all you’re doing is trying to protect the ball, but never move it down the field? God has a touchdown for you here my sister, but you’ve got to start playing offensively. FIGHT FOR THE LIFE HE HAS FOR YOU. USE THE WEAPON YOU’VE BEEN GIVEN.

Fight back warrior. You are not to be defeated here!

God’s word is your sword to defeat the enemy. The problem becomes when we leave our sword on the table and head out into the real world. Girl, you gotta take that word with you. What good is a sword if you don’t have it on you? Psalm 119:11 “I have hidden your word in my heart.” What does that mean? That means I have memorized your word and it is always with me!

Yes, what I’m encouraging you with today is to not only read God’s word, but memorize it so it’s always with you. So any battle you may step into, you have your sword with you at all times to fight.

Now, when this scripture was written about the armor of God, a sword was the ultimate weapon. But today, you can have yourself a machine gun. Oh yeahhhhh, more than just a riffle, you can have a weapon loaded with more than just one bullet, you can have an entire clip of bullets. That will take down the enemy.

I’m talking about 10 scriptures in a clip to fire off against the enemy to win your battle. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom … he doesn’t have a chance.

Yeah, when Ephesians was written, the word of God was described as the ultimate personal weapon at the time, but understand it is a machine gun in your hands when you come at your enemy with 10 scriptures at a time!

It goes like this:

God has good plans for me. (Jeremiah 29:11)
He is working all things together for my good. (Romans 8:28)
With God, all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26)
I will be strong and courageous because the Lord is with me wherever I go. (Joshua 1:9)
In all my ways I will acknowledge him, and he will make my paths straight. (Proverbs 3:6)
The Lord is my Shepard, I lack nothing. (Psalm 23:1)
If God is for me, who can be against me. (Romans 8:31)
What the enemy intended for harm, God will use for good. (Genesis 50:20)
The One who is in me is greater than he who is in the world. (1 John 4:4)
I can do all things through Christ, who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:13)

That’s an entire clip of ammunition, aimed at the enemy firing off all at once. NOW THAT IS A WEAPON!

Remember when Satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness? Jesus came back and fought him with God’s word like a machine gun. He fired off one scripture after another and defeated him. Yeah, He’s Machine Gun Jesus, and he wants us to be the same!

I have a sweet friend who has a goal of memorizing scripture this year. Her intentions aren’t just to memorize a new scripture each week and forget what she learned the week before, but instead to assemble a clip for her machine gun to fire off. Each week she memorizes a new scripture that is linked to the weeks before. 10 at a time creates a clip, then hold down that trigger and FIRE!

Do you know why you feel such a resistance to memorizing scripture? Honey, because the devil doesn’t want you equipped for the battle. He would rather keep you distracted, discouraged and on a detour. It’s time to gather your greatest weapons and build your clip for that machine gun. 10 scriptures at a time, then pull that trigger and stand in the victory you were created for.

No more settling for anything less than the life God had in mind when he made you. No more believing the lies that tell you you’re not good enough. No more selling short and giving up. Nope! This is a battle and it’s time you show up and fight.

You are a warrior with a machine gun in your hands. Load your clip and pull your trigger!
