There’s a viral video flooding FaceBook this week being view 1.4 million times in the past 4 days, perhaps you’ve seen it. A young boy in church is using sign language to perform “Reckless Love.” Now the final minute of the video, this boy really gets into it and he’s using his entire body to sign these words:

Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God
Oh, it chases me down, fights ’til I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine
I couldn’t earn it, and I don’t deserve it, still, You give Yourself away
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God

This is my favorite song. In fact in episode 104 titled “You’re the One” we did an entire devotional on this song. But now after seeing the video of this boy performing it in sign language, I feel I have a visual of God’s love. I encourage you to watch the video and see the actions as God chases you down, fights til you’re found, leaves the 99.

I was touched by this song. The words. The truths. The movements of this young boy. I am moved by God’s love. And my love for God moves me.

Doesn’t your love for God move you? You feel stirred inside, you can’t sit still and you’re spurred into action BECAUSE YOU LOVE HIM.

Now imagine this, if your love for God moves you, imagine how much God’s love for you MOVES HIM.

This is what I see when I watch this video. How God and his overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love for ME moves him. He sees me every moment of every day. His eye never leaves me. His thoughts are always on me. And he can’t help but be moved because he loves me so darn much. From Heavenly places he puts his plans in action to save me, rescue me, restore me, strengthen me and bless me.

And whether you believe it or not, whether you feel you deserve it or not, regardless if you feel worthy or included, the exact same is true for you. God’s overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love for YOU moves him. He sees every moment of YOUR day. His eye never leaves YOU. His thoughts are always on YOU. And he can’t help but be moved because he loves YOU so darn much. At this very moment he is putting plans into action to save you, rescue you, restore you, strengthen you and bless you.

God is in ACTION for you.

Contrary to popular belief, he’s not sitting on his throne with arms folding shaking his head. He’s not looking at you in disgust. He’s not ashamed of you. Here’s what he’s doing: He’s lighting up the dark places in your life, he’s climbing up mountains, he’s kicking down walls and tearing down lies COMING AFTER YOU. He is moved by his love for you. His immeasurable love for you has him fighting for you, taking action for you, protecting you, running to you.

And here’s all you have to do: Believe it and receive it.

There’s no 10 step plan of righteousness. You’re never going to be good enough to deserve this. You’re never going to earn it. And yet he’s coming after you anyway.

When I hear this song I am moved. I am moved because I love Him. Sadly my love for him has wavered over the years. It’s been a bit conditional. My love for God has sometimes been tied to circumstances and expectations. My love for God has sometimes been dampened by my own sin, then blanketed by shame.

But God’s love for me has never, ever wavered. And it’s never wavered for you either. His love is never-ending for you. It’s been proven in the ultimate sacrifice for you. John 3:16 says it all, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

A missionary stood on my front porch many, many years ago and asked my name. I said Pamela. He then looked me in the eye and said, “Oh, for God so loved PAMELA that he gave his one and only Son.” I’ll never forget that. God’s love for me is personal and direct and the sacrifice would have been made to save just ME. Why? Because he is moved by his love for me.

And I am no better than you. I am no cleaner than you. No more worthy or deserving. Deuteronomy 10:17 says “The Lord almighty shows no partiality and accepts no bribes.” What he feels for me, he feels for you. What he will do for me, he will do for you. What he has DONE for me, he has DONE for you.

He has chased me down, he has fought til I’m found, he left the 99 just to come find me. AND HE HAS DONE IT FOR YOU. HE IS DOING IT FOR YOU RIGHT NOW.

God’s love is in action because he simply can’t see you, the one whom he loves endlessly, and not be moved. If you could only see him fighting for you. If you only knew all he is doing in just this day to protect you, guide you and strengthen you. But he’s been doing it all your life, so now it just feels normal. You don’t even see his love in action on most days because EVERY DAY OF YOUR LIFE, his love has been in action for you. It’s become ordinary and routine.

But watch that video of the boy signing “Reckless Love”. Even if you’ve watched it before, watch it again. See God in action. See how he fights for you, all because he is MOVED by his love for you.

We sure don’t deserve it and we’ll never earn it, but his love for us is overwhelming, never-ending and recklessly in motion right now.
