What could God do in your life if you would just trust him? I mean trust him in the sunshine and the storms alike. Trust him in the happy times and the hard times. Trust he is doing what only he can do on your behalf even when it seems like nothing is happening at all.

Is anyone in that place right now … that place of waiting where it seems nothing is happening. You’ve been waiting and just wondering when God is going to do something. GOD IS DOING SOMETHING! Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean he hasn’t been working and moving on your behalf.

As you pray for the job and you sit waiting in a deafening silence that makes it feel like he never even heard you, things have been happening that you can’t see. Before you ever get the job offer God was moving people, like literally moving people. He was making an opening for you. One person would need to get promoted first, another person would need to be transferred, and maybe another would find the new job opportunity they had been praying for. All of this happens without you seeing or knowing a darn thing about it, right? And God has simply asked you to trust him in the process. GOD IS DOING SOMETHING. And when your job offer comes it will feel like God finally woke up and heard your prayers, snapped his fingers and made it happen for you, but the truth is, he’s been in the process of making it happen for you since the first prayer you whispered.

My husband and i are praying about our next home. Every day I wake up with the anticipation that we may just stumble upon where that home will be and we will find it. And when we find it we will just know. But there have been a whole lot of days of searching and messaging, dreaming and imagining without a darn thing making even an inch of progress. But since the very first prayer I prayed about our future home, I must remember God began working on my behalf. He set a series of events in motion. He stirred someone to consider moving. Then they would need to talk their spouse into that move. That person would need to start prepping their home for sale. He would need to show them where to move next and open those doors for them. Then he would need to make the connections for me to seemingly stumble upon their home and boom … there it is, what I had prayed for. But it all began way before I saw an ounce of proof God was working.

How many times have we quit believing in the process. Like literally IN THE PROCESS. The very thing we prayed about was in process, but we gave up before we got to see what God was doing. When we can’t see it happening we grow frustrated and we begin to believe the lies of the enemy which tell us God isn’t really for us, he’s against us. We’re being punished. God is withholding good from us. We feel defeated and that defeat leads to a break in our trust of the Almighty.

Have you stopped trusting God for the very thing you’ve been praying for?

I’m not a quitter. There’s just not a whole lot of quit in me, to a fault. If I start something I’ll break my own back to finish it. But I still struggle with trusting God. Instead of quitting you know what I will do … I will settle.

Yip, I’ll just settle for the immediate little yes over waiting for the BIG yes God has been working on for me. I grow impatient and desperate and I start compromising the greatness God has placed within me for a little goodness along the way. I wonder how many times God has been working on something magnificent for me, but while it’s still in progress he looks down and sees me settling for something less.

Dang, I don’t want to do that any more, do you? Lord help us not to give up in the process, but also help us not to settle in the process. We want what you have for us and we trust your process.

Jeremiah 17: 7-8 “But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.”

When we trust in God, regardless of the droughts of life where nothing seems to be happening, we are miraculously okay. More than okay. We never stop producing fruit. It is our trust in God which allows us to still keep doing good when things are not good. Our trust in God strengthens us to do what is right, even when things aren’t alright. Yes, this is the real picture of trusting God.

Now, one more question. I first asked what God could do in your life if you trusted him, now let’s reverse that … what could God do in your life if he could trust you?

Can he really trust you with that business you want to build? Can he trust you with the house, or would the house become your idol? Can he trust you with that new relationship, or would that new relationship become your focus? Can he trust you with more?

I believe God created you for MORE. So, so, so much more. He wants MORE for you. He has a storehouse of MORE available for you. And as a good good father he absolutely loves pouring out more good gifts on you, his precious girl. But can he trust you with more?

Jesus told us in Luke 16: 10-12 “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities. And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven? And if you are not faithful with other people’s things, why should you be trusted with things of your own?”

Sometimes he has to say no because we can’t be trusted. We spin out of control and become so totally unbalanced when he gives us more, so now he has to say no. As a result we live little, less than lives than we’re created for because we couldn’t be trusted with more.

God has proven he can be trusted. Hasn’t he always made a way? Hasn’t he always provided for today? Hasn’t he always gotten you through? Yes he has. We may not understand his way and we may not like his way, but he has never failed us. He can be trusted. Remember that today as you wait. You wait to see movement proving God is in the process of answering your specific prayers. He is doing something right now, he truly is. Trust him as he works in unseen ways. One day you will see. Don’t quit as you wait and don’t settle as you wait. TRUST as you WAIT.

Now, prove to God he can trust you. How? With all you currently have. Can he trust you to take care of what he has already given you? Can he trust you to have a good attitude today as you go to a job you don’t love while praying for one you will? Can he trust you to stop complaining about the house you have as you pray for the one you want? Can he trust you to find joy in this season of life as you dream of the next season coming? CAN HE TRUST YOU?

Some places you will go in life because you trust in God. Some place you will go because God trusts in you.
