God’s hand is over you. His hand shields and protects you, holds and guides you, provides for you and strengthens you. In his hand is sheer power, and this power is over you. Yes, directly over you.

Why would you ever fear the next step if you really understood the power that directs you? Why would you ever hold back and settle for less if God’s hand is guaranteed to strengthen you? Why would you ever worry about tomorrow if God’s hand of provision has always been faithful to you?

We fail to see his hand. We miss that he truly sees and cares about all things concerning us and is working in the details to fulfill his good plans for our lives. But my sister, HE IS. He is working here. His hand is over you and orchestrating all you cannot even think or imagine.

Psalm 138:8 “The LORD will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever. Do not abandon the works of your hands.”

Your life is a work of God’s hands, and his intention is to bring you to his greatest plans concerning you. That’s what he is doing. Yes, look around at your current circumstances. Those things that are coming together, that’s because he’s bringing them together. Those things that are falling apart, that’s because he’s using the pieces to build something better. Those things you can’t understand, he’s working in the mystery for a future reveal you can’t imagine. And sister, he’s not going to step away from the work he is doing with his hand over your life.

He’s not tired of you, nor is he done with you. He’s not perplexed by the complexity of your situation. He’s not stuck without a way to move forward. Oh he sees the way. He knows exactly what he is doing and says without a doubt you’re worth all it will require. His hand is not leaving you here.

Think about this … when God envisioned you, he didn’t envision you bad. He didn’t envision you stuck. He didn’t envision you addicted or hopeless. He didn’t envision you, his finest creation and greatest masterpiece, as anything less than the beautiful vessel through which his power could flow through in perfect alignment with his will. His hand is hovering over you now, at this very moment, awaiting the time when you are ready to step into all he has available to you.

1 Chronicles 29:12 “Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength.”

At God’s discretion, we are made great and given strength by the power in his hand. That means God decides when and how, and guess what … God knows better than us! His perspective is higher and greater, seeing what we do not see. He sees eternity and knows exactly how this moment and this day can be used for his eternal plans.

May our prayer be, God when you know it’s best, provide your strength to help me to do great things. If today isn’t the day to do great things, then Lord, prepare me for when it is. I trust the power in your hand, and even when I don’t see it and feel it, I know your hand is over my life.

We all love it when God opens his hand and blesses us. Woohoooo, bring on the goodness! But God’s powerful and mighty hand also withholds. Sometimes he doesn’t allow things to happen as we wish they would. He stops the flow, halts the progress, and closes the door. Why? Why would a good good father who has an abundance of all things ever stop the flow over our lives? Why would he close his hand and deny our requests?

Because he is good. Because he knows what is best forever over what is best right now. Because he’s big enough to say no right now to lead you to a future ultimate yes.

When my alarm rang this morning I was in the middle of a dream. In this dream I was at a checkout counter and on the screen where the total should have been was Philippians 1:6. Then I woke up. Random.

But totally not random if you look up that scripture. Philippians 1:6 says “being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

How does God work? With his hands! Where is his hand? OVER YOU! What is he doing today? He is continuing the good work of his hand over you because he’s not done with you yet. And this scripture says YOU SHOULD BE CONFIDENT IN THIS. Yes, be confident in God’s hand over your life. Be confident in his good plans for you. Be confident in his perfect timing to strengthen you just when you need it. Be confident in his divine ability to make you great when all you’ve been doing is making a mess.

God’s not walking away from his work. What he started, he’s going to finish.

There is power in the hand that is over your life, and that power is all you need for your next step. Go ahead and move forward with confidence sister, God is guiding you and he’s saying “we’re not done yet!”
