You may be facing impossible circumstances right now. You might be in over your head with no way out. You may have tried everything before and nothing has ever worked. You may be a day late and a dollar short, with absolutely no way to make up for what you don’t have.

… BUT GOD.

God is not limited by your circumstances. God is not without a path through this. God is not stuck here without a way to make things work. God is not lacking. He is forever making a way where there was previously no way. He is pouring his abundance into every need and overflowing that which was running low. God is doing what God does … impossible stuff.

Whatever you’re facing today, whatever your reality is, whatever kept you up last night, and woke you up with burden this morning, whatever it is you’ve been trying to fix and the mess only grows, whatever it is you have no answers for, you need to know one thing … BUT GOD.

But God does know. But God is working here. But God can. But God will.

Jesus said in Matthew 19:26 ““With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

So you take your impossible… Take your ‘ain’t never worked before…’ Take your I’m so tired of trying, I don’t know what else to try… Take your I’m stuck and can’t keep doing this … Take it all to God because no doubt, you need a ‘BUT GOD’ here. BUT WITH GOD, all things are possible.

God wants to get all in the middle of what you have going on. Maybe that’s why he has allowed it to happen in the first place, because it is an opportunity for him to show his personal love and power right where you will need it most. Don’t assume God doesn’t want to be part of this mess, girl he wants in the middle of it. Go ahead and invite him in.

Do you ever watch the show Hoarders? People living in unlivable conditions, surrounded by mountains of trash. They want to do something about it, but they have a problem they don’t know how to fix. So, professional help shows up at their door. Professionals who will work through this with them, clear the mess, and give them a fresh start. However, the homeowner must let help in the door. They must invite them into their mess, allow it to be seen, and accept help. That must be a really hard thing to do.

We must do the same thing with God. Revelations 3:20 God says “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in …” And y’all, when God comes in, he brings his impossible works with him. What’s your job in this? Answer the door and let him in. He is the help you need. Invite him into your mess. Show him the dark corners you hide from everyone else and let him help you fix this.

Wait … you’re still dismissing this as unfixable? Don’t forget, for you this is impossible, BUT with GOD all things are possible. Invite him into this. He knows how to fix this. He knows how to clean this up. He knows exactly how to help, and his desire is to give you a fresh start.

God’s desire is not for his girl to live below her potential for one more day. His desire is not for you to dwell in regret and shame for the mess you’ve made or the time you’ve wasted. He wants to save you from this, he wants to redeem you, he wants to do something ridiculously good here in this space where nothing good ever seems to happen for you.

This is your BUT GOD moment.

You can’t do this, but God can.
You don’t have the answers, but God does.
You can’t fix it, but God will.

And it’s not like God shows up on the scene dreading the work. He’s not knocking on your door, trying to walk into your mess because he needs the money and someone is paying him to do it. No, he’s GOD! It was his plan from the beginning to rescue you. It was always his intention to do for you what you can’t do for yourself. It’s his desire to save you again and again, no matter how far you’ve fallen.

Let me tell you something, the bigger the mess, the bigger God’s glory! Sit next to someone who spent years addicted to drugs, living on the streets, stealing from family, life hanging by a thread and their only thought on their next high, BUT GOD rescued them. God came into their mess and offered grace and mercy, healing and restoration, and a new beginning. Sit next to them and you will see the work of God. They can’t stop sharing how God rescued them. They can’t help but give God glory.

Several years ago I met Maria in Chicago. Maria had been a heroine addict for over 20 years, living on the streets. God saved her, then used her to help rescue other addicts on the same streets she once lived. His glory was so bright in her. He came into her mess and did the impossible, and you couldn’t help but see it.

So, yeah God wants in the middle of your big ol’ mess. That’s where his glory is found.

And he wants in the middle of your little mess that’s so easy to pretend you don’t even have. He’s knocking right now. He’s asking if he can help you break that little habit you’ve got going on. He’s asking if he can help you change how you’ve been reacting to that situation. He’s asking if he can help you with that next step you’re not sure of. OPEN THE DOOR WOMAN.

God, come on in! Get in here. This is what I’ve got going on. This place is kinda a mess and I’m embarrassed to show you all of this, but it’s not like you didn’t know already. You’re God. Will you help me?

Oh girl, this is your BUT God moment. You can’t, but God can.

Do a google search for all the ‘but God’ scriptures. This is what God does. He shows up in the impossible. He walks right into the mess. He shows us the way after we’ve screwed up 20 times trying it on our own. He uses intended harm for good. He turns it all around and directs us to our divine destiny.

He did it for Jonah in the belly of a whale. Jonah 2:6 “To the roots of the mountains I sank down; the earth beneath barred me in forever. But you, Lord my God, brought my life up from the pit.”

He did it for David in all of his battles. Psalm 76:26 “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”

He did it for Joseph after his own brothers tried to get rid of him out of jealousy. Genesis 50:20 “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”

He did it for Jesus on the cross. Acts 13: 19-20 “they took him down from the cross and laid him in a tomb. But God raised him from the dead.”

And he will do it for you. He will do it for you because he loves you. He will do it for you because he knows your potential. He will do it for you because he has a good plan for your life and he hasn’t given up on that plan. Ephesians 2: 4-5 “But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sis, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead.”

There’s never a scenario that’s too far gone for God. There’s never a mess he’s not willing to get in the middle of. There’s never an impossible he cannot make possible. All he requires of you is that you open the door and let him into the mess.

He’s knocking. You know it right now. You know what you’ve been holding back from God. You know where you’ve been blocking him out. Now, you open the door and he will come in. His power will be unleashed here. His hand will be at work. And the things that have never been possible before will now be possible!

Hey God, come on in to my mess. I’ve been trying to fix this on my own and it hasn’t been working. I’m ready for your help now.
