What if the thing you’ve been worried about could be prayed about and resolved? What if the thing that’s been standing in your way could be prayed over and be moved? What if all that has been holding you back could be prayed about and those chains would be forever broken?

I have a friend who struggled with a food addiction for many years. It consumed her life, robbed her of her confidence and joy, and caused her bright light within to go out. She had tried everything and simply nothing had worked over the strong hold food had in her life. One day, she decided to try again, and this time she would bring it to God and ask for him to change her cravings, change her taste buds, help her overcome her picky habits, and actually like the new way of eating she would try.

The first day, she hated everything she tried. She kept praying, asking God to change her from within. She tried again the second day and not only could she eat it, but she actually loved it. She is now living life free of her food addiction and coming alive again. How did it happen? 1.) Seeking God for her change. 2.) Her willingness to try again.

Would our Almighty God, the creator of the Universe, the one who is in charge of keeping this whole world spinning, really care about you and what you’ve been struggling with? Oh girl, you bet your butt he cares!!!!

Luke 12:7 says “the very hairs on your head are all numbered.” Not just counted, numbered. This means God not only knows how many hairs you have on your head, but he knows precisely where they all go and which one just fell out. So, if God cares about the hairs on your head, don’t you think he cares about the worries in your head? Don’t you think he cares about the battle you’ve been fighting, the change you’ve been trying to make, the uncertainty you feel at the crossroads where you stand, the temptation you’ve been trying to resist, the mountain you’ve been trying to climb, and the disappointment you’ve been wrestling with?

He cares about all of it!

And if God can change one woman’s taste buds, I assure you he can help you change every single thing that needs to be changed in your life. What do you have to do?

1. Seek God for the change.
2. Be willing to try again.

I know of a woman who had smoked cigarettes for over 20 years. She prayed and asked God for help to quit smoking. The next cigarette she picked up, she nearly choked on it. It was repulsive to her. She’s never smoked again.

I know of a man who had nearly ruined everything in his entire life with an alcohol addiction. One night, sitting outside of a liquor store, he felt the touch of God on his shoulder, and he’s been set free since. Today his life is better than he could have ever imagined. His marriage was saved, his children are whole, and his home is at peace.

So, Sis, let’s have a talk. I’m going to just say what God is putting on my heart right now, knowing he will speak directly to the one who is here to today seeking.

Have you asked God to restore your love for your husband? Have you asked him to remove your desire for sin? Have you asked him to replace your temptation with strength? Have you asked him to revive your passion? Have you asked him to help you overcome your laziness? Have you asked him to rewire your worried mind, and rebuild your anxious heart? Have you asked him to bring those dead dreams back to life again? Have you asked him to supernaturally guide your next step? Have you asked him to change your perspective and attitude?

Have you asked? Then have you tried again?

I’ve learned if God cares about every single hair on my head, he cares about every detail of my life and I can bring it to him for help. Here’s an example. People often ask how I can maintain my energy and good mood on minimal sleep. At retreats, I’m the last one to bed and typically the first one up. I average 2 to 3 hours of sleep on retreat nights, yet I wake up feeling like I’ve had a full night’s rest.

Want to know my secret? I simply ask God to multiply the effects of every moment of sleep I do get, to the benefit of my mind and body. For real. If I know I’m getting 2 hours of sleep, I ask him to triple the effects of those 2 hours, to receive the benefit of 6 hours. If I’m getting 4 hours of sleep, I ask for a double effect, and without fail, I wake up feeling like I’ve rested for 8 hours.

Why wouldn’t God care about my sleep? Why wouldn’t he partner with me in my desire for good energy and a good mood? So I ask and I receive. I go to bed with absolute confidence I will wake up feeling good, simply because I asked my mighty and powerful God to multiply my sleep for the benefit of my mind and body.

Philippians 4: 6-7 says “Don’t worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”

Psalm 37:23 reminds me that “God delights in every detail of our lives.”

Yes, DELIGHTS. This means God finds great pleasure in numbering the hairs on your head, multiplying the effect of the minimal hours of sleep you get, changing your tastebuds and cravings, removing addictions and temptations, restoring passion and purpose, guiding willing feet down divine paths, and opening impossible doors into our wildest dreams.

This is our God. This is our God in YOUR life! Bring every detail to him and he will delight over the fact that you brought it to him. Not only will he delight in it, but he will do impossible things in it.

Can I share a little dream I have on my heart with you? I have a dream of a tiki hut coffee shop on the beach in the Florida Keys. Each morning I would host the devotional from the coffee shop, and all our listeners would be invited to gather on the beach to share a glorious morning together. Stopping in at the BIG Life Tiki Hut Coffee Shop could be part of your vacation. You could be in the live audience for devotional. We could run into the turquoise waters with wild abandon afterwards. Baptisms and holy dunks. Splashing and swimming, paddle boarding and squeals of delight in some of God’s finest beauty. Joy is what we do best, and I bet we could pair it with the best cup of coffee on the island and change some lives!

Why don’t you just put a visit to the BIG Life Tiki Hut Coffee Shop for live devotional on your bucket list now, okay? It sparks my heart with such fire and passion, it makes my eyes leak. So, let me tell you what this prized and highly favored daughter of the Almighty King is doing … I’m bringing that to my Daddy and I’m talking to him about it. I mean, why not?

And may I remind you, you are the prized and highly favored daughter of the Almighty King with me. He’s bending down to hear all you want to talk to him about. Dreams and desires, struggles and battles, worries and fears. ALL OF IT. God delights in every detail of your life and if you will trade your worry about it for your prayer over it, he will exchange your prayer over it for his power over it.

Here’s what happens after you talk to God about it. Philippians 4:7 says “THEN you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

When God guards your mind, he directs your thoughts and decisions. When he guards your heart, he changes your desires. When he fills you with peace, you calm the heck down and show up for your life from a place of confidence instead of a place of anxiety. Your steps are guided, you move forward, you walk past closed doors without defeat and skid sideways through open doors with wild screams of delight!

Is God for you in this? ABSOLUTELY, UNDENIABLY, he is! And honey, if God is for you, who can be against you?

What do you want to talk to God about right now?

God can change your taste buds, he can change your cravings, he can change your heart, he can change your mind, he can change your direction, he can change your circumstances, he can change your habits, he can change your desires, he can change your mood, he can change your attitude, he can change your perspective, he can change your circle, he can change YOU. Anything and everything about you.

Now again, what do you want to bring to him?

Seek God for the change and be willing to try again!
