There’s only so much you can do here, right? You’re limited on what falls within your power, and honestly you feel like you’ve done about all you can do. So now you’re frustrated because even with doing all you can do, nothing is happening. Nothing is changing. And you’re beginning to lose hope.
Is that you? Losing hope? Frustrated that you can’t change this? Feeling stuck because you don’t know what else there is to do? Ahhhhhh girl, you are on a divine appointment hearing this today! I just know God has a personal word for you here. Write this down.
God says: You can’t do this, but I can.
So, you’re off the hook then, right? You can wash your hands and walk away? You’re relieved of any further obligation? No. You have a role to play in this. You have a responsibility here. Don’t you walk away. There’s one very important thing you must continue to do here where your power is limited and you can do nothing else … YOU MUST AGREE WITH GOD.
Now write this down: God can, and I agree with him!
Stand in agreement with God. If God says he can do it, then stand there unshaken and agree that he can. You don’t know how, and you don’t know when, but you know God can!
Girl, get your head and your heart in agreement with God. This is faith. And scripture says, “without faith it is impossible to please God.”
Did you know your focus on your own limitations can stop God from working? Did you know your frustrated focus on all you can’t do will block God in doing all he can do? Let me prove it.
Peter walked on water. He was sitting in a boat in a storm, and he sees Jesus walking to him on top of the waves. And Peter says, “Jesus, I want to do that with you!” So Jesus says, “Yes, come.” Peter miraculously steps out of the boat and walks on the water to Jesus! How cool is that? But then, Matthew 14: 30, “But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink.”
What happened when Peter focused on the wind and the waves? He started thinking how he shouldn’t be able to do what he was doing. He told himself he shouldn’t be out here on the water, he belonged in the boat. And because of that, he began to sink. Jesus had given him the power to walk on the water, but the moment he began to focus on his own limitations, God’s power stopped working.
When was Peter able to walk on the water? When he was in agreement with Jesus. Jesus, if you’re telling me to come on the water to you, then I believe I can do it through your power. When did Peter sink? When he got out of agreement and focused on his own limitations. I can’t possibly be walking on water … okay, then you sink.
So, yes, Sister, your faith is playing a major role in the unfolding of your life. If you’re in agreement with all God can do, God’s power is unleashed to do miraculous things and you get to be part of it! However, if you’re focused on your own limitations, you’ve limited the power of God from working in your life.
God wants to do more for you. He wants to move mountains. He wants to tear down walls. He wants to break chains. He wants to seal the mouths of lions. He wants to bring miraculous healing. He wants to create an overflow that just won’t stop. But a lack of faith limits all God wants to do in your life.
Here’s another example. Jesus returned to his hometown of Nazareth, but because everyone knew he was the son of Mary and Joseph, they didn’t believe in his divine position as the son of God. And Matthew 13:58 says, “And so he did only a few miracles there because of their unbelief.”
Once again, our own limitations are stopping God from working. Jesus walks into Nazareth with the power to heal. He walks in with the power to change lives with one touch and set people free instantly. Jesus is standing in their presence with all his power, but their unbelief limited his miracles. If they would have gotten over their need to make sense of it all and instead just gotten in agreement with Jesus, imagine all he could have done there. That town would have never been the same! Families would have been changed forever.
Now, imagine what can happen in your family if you stop trying to make sense of it all, but just get in agreement with Jesus. Believe with your whole being that God can do everything God says he can do. Truly believe that nothing is impossible with God.
You see, that kind of faith partners with God. That kind of faith creates an environment for miracles. That kind of faith unlocks the power of Jesus in every area of our lives. That kind of faith enables us to walk on water, and keep walking without sinking.
James 1: 5-8 MSG, “If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You’ll get his help, and won’t be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who “worry their prayers” are like wind-whipped waves. Don’t think you’re going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open.”
God loves to help you! Ask him for his help and truly believe he is responding miraculously to your request. Believe in his healing. Believe in his power. Believe in his provision. Believe in his way making, mountain moving, chain breaking, giant slaying, miraculous power to do immeasurably more than you could ever ask, think, or imagine. Leave no other options open. God, this is going to require you and nothing else. God, I’m 100% counting on your power to work here. All my eggs are in your basket. Lord, if you don’t do it, it won’t happen, and I know you can do it. I’m standing here in faith and full agreement with YOU.
The enemy wants you to believe you’re bothering God with this kind of prayer. The enemy wants you to believe you’re supposed to fix this on your own. Wrong and wrong again, Satan! God loves it when I ask for help. He loves to show off for me! He responds to respond to my request by giving me divine guidance and supernatural strength. Yes, it may look like I do some things on my own, but I’m guided and powered by God. This isn’t me … this is God in me! Whew, God loves that!
Do you have limitations? Absolutely! No doubt. There’s only so much you can do, and perhaps you’ve already done that. It ain’t working. You can’t fix this. You can’t change this. BUT GOD CAN.
God can change this. God can fix this. God can show up and do things that will totally blow your mind. But he can’t if you get stuck in your own limitations. He can’t if you focus on all that hasn’t worked. He can’t when you keep looking at the wind and waves. He can’t if you doubt. But, girl, if you partner with him and stand in agreement with his power over every detail of your life, his full power is unleashed to work!
I know you’re limited here, but God is not. I know you’re frustrated right now, but God is not. I know you’re overwhelmed with this, but God is not. Jesus says in Luke 1:37, “NOTHING WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD.” Throw your whole self into believing that. Stand in agreement with that over your own limitations. Stand in agreement with that over your frustrations. Jesus, I agree with you fully, with everything in me. Nothing will be impossible with God, and I’m calling on his power here. My faith says God can!
God can, and I agree with him!
